Tonights beer is Ciucas or Ciuc..first brewedd in 1892 supposedly Brewed with pure mountain water

ABV 4.5% and a light golden beer with a crisp and refreshing taste, i am unfortunately drinking it warm, (almost blasphemy) from the store, but cold, i give it 10 out of 10 for refreshment…i am 6 pints in and not much effect alcohol wise..thus a great beer to drink at social occasions and Bar B Q s…all the taste non of the effects…like wife embarrassing…or making guests wonder if the chef has had a few too many…

A lot of Visitors and tourists and international Guests who have visited Brasov in romania have Drank this Beer and it is one of the more commonly known brands in Romania…

at £0.80 per 2 Ltrs or 4 pints its value for money $1,60 usd per 4 pints

another product of Ursus Breweries..review of Ursus still to come

if you want to visit Romania to taste the beers come as a tourist and leave as a friend of the family

Tonights Beer is Bergenbier…Brewed in romania but with a german name influence??strange..not so though but it from the same company that brew or distribute stella and becks in romania interbrew romania s.a.

a pretty just ok sort of beer, but lacking in something? not sure what, at 4.8% Vol its probably alcohol content thats missing from this rather bland beer, its cheap, but for this country it has to be,well at least  at that strength. about the same as numarkt at (much Stronger) $2.00 or £1.00 for 2 Ltrs or 4 pints…its ok and much better served cold nothing worse than a warm larger beer…as Carlsberg is considered “probably the best larger in the world” then this stuff is the equal in romania..they sponser a lot of sports events for publicity.. the web site is www.bergenbier.ro if you are curious enough to see it..Next beer coming soon…

I am Curious to know if anyone has an opinion or review on this ? Many years ago i got absolutely wrecked on this in Bermuda.. it is about 7%Abv and is the most potent beers i have drunk, apart from some UK ones, its an Export strength

looking forward to a review? Never Seen It Since….

One of my preferred beers from Mexico. Dos Equis is a smooth beer with a nice rich flavor to go along with it. They offer both an Amber and a Lager. I prefer the Lager but the Amber has a nice flavor to it also. It has a modest flavor but is not too heavy. There is nothing more enjoyable than getting the beer with the lime on top and squeezing that lime into the bottle. The first sip is always the best with that heavy tar flavor of the lime mixed with the smooth flavors of the Dos xx’s. A clear winner in my beer category for a moderate lager that is not too heavy or to light. I would rate it 3.5 burps ot of 5.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this beer. I was offered to me by a customer and is a mild lager. Taste like so many other imports… I would define it as similar to many American beers, its smooth and a little sweet. Goes down easy. Nothing wrong with it as a beer but it is just bland. It lacks any particular flavor which is unusual because when I think of Jamaica I think of flavorful food.

I discovered the culprit quickly on their web site. The beer was created by 2 English fellows 80 years ago. That explains it. I am sure if it had been invented by some local people with local taste it would have a lot more of that local flair. I rate it 2 out of 5 burps.

Today i have selected based on price alone “Neumarkt” it was cheaper than the other 2 Ltr bottles by a small amount less than 10p uk money but it has an ABV of 5.2% Vol, after consuming 3 ltrs it seems to be going down well…as it would…. if i have a head ache in the morning i will let you all know….it is only quality guaranteed for 4 months in the bottle, and is brewed by S.C.Mures Romania in a town called Ungheni ? i think its a blonde beer or larger and it is very smooth, and best cold as all are. so in comparison to timisoarana its good and may be a bit better..we have a lot to go i have a load of beer to try on your behalf .. any comments feel free to ask i will give anything a go….
